Davido is one of the biggest Nigerian musicians of the 2000s.

With hit songs like ‘Aye’, ‘Gobe’ to mention but a few, he has deeply cemented his name on the hearts of millions of people around the world, old and young alike.

1. He dropped out of school due to his love for music

Before getting his BSc in Music, he studied Business Administration at the Oakwood University. That was when his interest in music started and he dropped out and focused more of his energy towards his vocals.

2. He was the only student in his class

Davido attended Babcock University and graduated with a BSc in Music. His father paid the university to erect an inaugural class of one.

3. He was in a group

Before his big move to Nigeria, he was formerly in a group called KB international in America.

4. He has won the Best Male category at the MTV Base Africa Music Awards two years consecutively.

Davido took home the highly fought for MAMA awards for Best Male in 2014 and 2015. He also took home the best Artist award in 2014.

Before focusing on his vocals in school, he used to produce a lot and has gone on to add ‘producer’ to the list of talents. He has since produced songs for Naeto C, Skales, Sauce Kid and Tiwa Savage.

Davido admitted that his love for entertaining people comes from his late mother who passed away in 2003. Losing her has been the most traumatic experience Davido has had to suffer but it has also been his inspiration for him.
